Dr. David Belcher, who will become Western Carolina University’s chancellor on July 1, visited campus on Monday to introduce himself to the WCU community and to address what some of his priorities will be when he takes over.
In the Fine and Performing Arts Center to about 450 members of WCU’s faculty, staff and students, Belcher first touched on the mentors he has had in his life that helped him to to get where he is today and also about the partnership he has with his wife, Susan. Belcher then moved onto address the challenges WCU faces in the current economy and to answer three questions he has been asked repeatedly in the past couple weeks. (A video that highlights the segment of the address where Belcher answered questions follows.)
