The 14th Annual Greening Up the Mountains festival was held Saturday, April 23 in downtown Sylva. Hundreds of tourists and community members attended the festival to see the local crafts, hear live music, and feast on a variety of local treats. To hear first hand accounts from visitors watch the video.
This annual spring festival is named for the way the green leaves work their way up the mountainsides.
Vendors at the festival included local artisans, environmental education groups, community organizations, children’s activities, and a wide selection of food vendors. This year’s festival was focused on three main points, environmental sustainability, a strong local economy, and the revival of mountain heritage crafts and traditions.
