Western Carolina University honored the 10 year anniversary of Sept. 11 by sharing memories, gratitude and a moment of silence during a candle light vigil at the central plaza fountain.
The event began at 8:30 p.m. with a retrospective video footage and pictures from the tragedy as well as interviews with victims and their families. The concluded with a message from the President Obama.
Following the video, SGA President TJ Eaves spoke with students about his memories of Sept. 11 and introduced the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Sam Miller, who invited the students to light a candle and join in a moment of silence.
