Western Carolina University started the Christmas festivities last week with the 3rd annual Holiday at the UC.
Students, staff and the whole community came to share and enjoy the holiday spirits enjoying the carriage rides, hot cider and stuffing toys.
“We try to provide family orientated activities geared towards the holidays,” said the director and coordinator of the event, Lori Davis.
The University Center displayed a festive Christmas feel, offering participants the opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus.
Pictures with Santa, the build-a-bear project, and the horse-drawn carriages were among the most popular events.
Free apple cider and holiday cookies were a treat to everyone that was attending.
The atmosphere around the UC was joyful with cheer. Christmas carolers serenaded the crowd. Parents, kids, and students showed a great deal of excitement once the carolers began.
Jessica Hightower, a parent of two brought her kids to celebrate the holidays.
“I’m so thankful that WCU is offering an event to showcase the Christmas spirit, I will definitely bring them again,” Hightower said.
