The 35 student members of the Western Carolina University Inspirational Choir presented a Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 2, in the Grandroom of WCU’s A.K. Hinds University Center.
The program consisted of four contemporary/inspirational songs performed by the choir, led by choir director Shelton Parks, plus two Christmas songs that included the audience’s participation.
Everyone that was present at the concert seemed to be having a great time. People were clapping to the rhythms, raising their hands and even singing along with the choir at some points.
The concert was sponsored by the Department of Intercultural Affairs and also included original poetry read by two of the choir members: Jacole Dunlap and Andrew Drake. Both poems were outstanding and received a huge applause from the audience.
The original poetry was followed by a praise dance by Andrew Drake and Tevin Henderson. The program concluded with an additional four songs from the choir.
