Western Carolina University’s Inspirational Choir held their last concert of the semester in UC Grandroom on November 24.
The concert was holiday theme emphasized on spreading holiday cheer and love to the audience, also spread Gods love through song. Inspirational Choir President, Monteria Perry always wants her audience to feel welcome and leave the concert happy.
“I hope they were able to feel the holiday spirit,” said Perry.
This year’s concert was a little different from previous years. The concert included: a skit, which involved choir members re-enacting the popular “Everything” skit by Lifehouse. And WCU Junior Tevin Richardson did a face painted solo mime performance to a gospel song. Also the Rogers family trio from Charlotte NC, made up of choir member and WCU Sophomore Tiffany Rogers and her parents Tim and Cynthia Rogers.
“I’ve been singing with my parents since elementary school,” explained Tiffany.
The trio received a standing ovation after their selection.
The Inspirational or gospel choir is an Intercultural Affairs organization and a part of the Organization of Ebony Students. The choir has been on Western’s campus since 1973, and for forty years has been ministering to students through music.
