Full Spectrum Farms hosted their seventh annual Starlight Night festival in Cullowhee on Sept. 20.
In hopes of raising awareness and money for adults with autism, the night was filled with singing, barbecue, a bonfire and plenty of fun games for the children and activities for the adults.
“This is our biggest annual fundraiser,” said worker and helper, Rick Shoestock. “Our mission is to provide a residence for adults with autism.”
He explained that there is a lot of funding for children with autism, but once they reach adulthood, similar programs are difficult to find.
The event was a big hit, with hundreds of people showing up and enjoying themselves while donating to a bigger cause. Donations to the farm included farm equipment, housing needs and money. The funds are used to keep the farm up and running and to help provide a place for these adults to reside.
