The 31st Annual Tuck River Cleanup is coming up on Saturday, April 18. The cleanup is the nation’s largest single day river cleanup. Between 600 and 1,000 volunteers will join together to help clean 27 miles of the river.
Registration starts on the University Center’s lawn at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. During this time, Base Camp Cullowhee will be shuttling people to and from the Tuckasegee River. From there, the participants will board the rafts to ride down the river with garbage bags to clean up trash in the river.
At the end of the rafting trip from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., participants will be shuttled back to campus where a cookout will be waiting. The cookout includes live music, free food, yard games and prizes.
The first 600 people to register on Saturday will receive a free Tuck River Cleanup t-shirt.
