Annual student appreciation week is here and it is time to celebrate the students of Western Carolina University.
Student appreciation week is from April 22 to April 28 and full of free activities for students as a thank you for being a student at WCU.
Cat Bash is one of the main events located the UC Lawn. It is filled with different games and inflatables for students to enjoy while food is located inside the University Center. Every year Cat Bash is hosted by the Residential Living Department and Resident Student Association.
“I can have fun and it brings back the memories of the county fair. It is relaxing and it gave me an opportunity to take a break at the end of the day,” said Sophomore Abigal Clark.
The games offered were: a claw machine with quarters provided, an inflatable soccer game, inflatable laser tag, and a dunk tank with parking services. Students were also able to paint frisbees on a turn-table to create fun designs.
In the UC Grandroom and Illusions, there were food and drinks available for students provided by dining services since the upstairs cafeteria and Brown Dining Hall was closed for the evening. Cookout style food was provided such as hotdogs, pork, corn on the cob, desserts, and various drinks.
Cat bash is only the beginning of an eventful week to appreciate students.
