Life can be a drag sometimes. But the drag queens coming to WCU on Friday, Sept. 27 certainly bring some color to your night!

RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Miz Cracker will be joining local drag queens for a drag show to be held at the Ramsey Center. Tickets can be picked up on the second floor of Hind’s University Center, and they are free to students. The show will start at 8 p.m.

Intercultural Affairs and Last-Minute Productions are the organizing bodies for the event.
Last year the event sold out on the first day. In anticipation of the drag show being much bigger this year the event was moved from the University Center’s Grand Room to the Ramsey Center according to Last Minute Production’s Special Events Coordinator, Brittany Hard, and Entertainment Coordinator, Madison Green.

“[The drag show] adds to the diversity of this community. It gives people a chance to participate in something that they usually wouldn’t, in Cullowhee,” said Hard.

According to Green, the drag show shows support for the LGBTQ community by providing an event that brings in local members of the community to be themselves. It also creates a space that is welcoming to anyone who wants to enjoy the show.

WCU’s Pride Week is the week of Sept. 23. The week will conclude with the drag show on Friday.

Both Hard and Green said that this is a unique event to Cullowhee. Hard said, “[the drag show] is like a once in a lifetime experience.”
