The WCU Equestrian Club competed at a college scrimmage hosted by the UNCG Equestrian Club on April 18. The club also competed against High Point University and UNCA at this scrimmage. These were some of the rare competitions that the club had in this academic year.
For the past year the WCU Equestrian Club has been restricted to practices only and no competitions as were other college equestrian clubs across North Carolina. WCU has been hard at work to prepare themselves for the upcoming season.
To keep everyone safe, the club brought their own horses and equipment to the scrimmage. Masks were also required when not riding and social distancing was enforced.
Many students at WCU don’t even know that the equestrian club team exists much less that they are very competitive. Learn more about the competition they attended.
