  • Easter Hat Parade: Dillsboro Merchants Association (DMA) will be holding their 34th annual Easter Hat Parade from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 16 and will meet at the Dogwood’s parking lot. Families can come and make a free hat to wear for the parade. There will be other activities like face painting, an Easter egg hunt at noon, and different hat contests. 

The parade starts in front of town hall on Front Street. Reserving a spot in the parade will begin at 11 a.m.

  • Greening up the Mountains: This festival will be celebrating its annual 25th event on April 23 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. in downtown Sylva’s Bridge Park. The local art festival will have  a variety of Appalachian art, vendors, and live musical performances.

  • Music on the Porch: The Appalachian Women’s Museum in Dillsboro is holding a 2nd annual music festival on April 30 from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. surrounding the Monteith Farmhouse porch. 

Tickets are $15 for adults with profits going to the Music Room Exhibit. There will be food vendors and other goodies. Musicians are Susan Pepper, Shelia Kay Adams, Kornbread Kreek, Lee Knight, and the Pressley Girls. Remember a blanket or chair for this Appalachian music event!

  • Airing of the Quilts: This traditional event will take place on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Appalachian Women’s Museum which will meet at the Monty Park. 

There are around 65 quilts that hang around the porch to for airing out. These quilts are from locals and the museum welcomes others to view the wondrous fabrics. 

  • Concerts on the Creek: This series of concerts feature many Appalachian musicians that are brought to you by Jackson counties Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation, and the town of Sylva. For a full experience, take along a blanket or chair to Bridge Park and enjoy the food vendors while listening to these musicians.

  • Spring Fling Art & Craft Walk: DMA is hosting this art festival on May 28 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with free entry! This festival showcases individual artists with unique crafts.
  • Sapphire Valley Arts & Crafts: The Sapphire Valley Resort is presenting this local arts festival from June 18starting at 10 a.m. through June 19 6 p.m. There will be live music, food vendors, different handmade crafts, and local art. 
  • Downtown Sylva Fourth of July:  Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Fourth of July event from 6 p.m. -10 p.m. in downtown Sylva. Before the fireworks at dark in Sunrise Park, there will be food vendors, music, and other festivities. 
  • Front Street Arts & Crafts: Another arts festival is being held on July 16 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at on Front Street, Dillsboro. There will be over 40 vendors with a wide variety of local crafts/arts. There will also be delicious food vendors for this event.

Tents will be lined up on the street meaning Front Street will be closed for this festival. 

  • Fall Fling Art & Craft Walk: During the fall, Dillsboro is welcoming local artisans for this art/craft festival on Sept. 3 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Front Street. 

Joining the handmade art/crafts will be Twelfth Fret and Anna Victoria. 

  • Colorfest! Arts & Crafts Walk: Dillsboro comes back on Oct. 1 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for another local artist’s event. You can find over a 100 different talented artist around the town.
