Jackson County will have a new sheriff in town. Doug Farmer, republican candidate won on the 2022 midterm elections with almost 53 percent of the votes. With that he made a history. There has not been a republican sheriff in Jackson for over 80 years.
Farmer will take the position in December when the present sheriff, Chip Hall, retires.
