Western Carolina students are in for a spectacular variety show this week! Circus duo, The Great DuBois, will be taking center stage in the UC Grandroom on Jan. 31 at 8 p.m.

The show is free for everyone to attend and will consist of various acts ranging from juggling tricks, circus stunts and acrobatics. Student staff member of Campus Activities, Jake Dial, shared his excitement for the upcoming event.

“I do not want to spoil too much but it is literally a traveling circus act!” He said.

The Great Dubois has performed on Broadway stages and their work has been featured on the silver screen. Most famously, they performed alongside Hugh Jackman in the Golden Globe-nominated film “The Greatest Showman”. Their act has been entertaining audiences for years.

Students who attend the event will be transported under the big top for a night of thrilling acts. The show provides a unique experience for Western students.

“Think about when we are older and how fun of a memory it will be that you came to a circus on your college campus!” Dial said.

According to Dial, the idea of bringing a circus to the UC seemed like an impossible task but when they found The Great DuBois, everything else just fell into place.

Campus Activities is excited to welcome The Great DuBois to Cullowhee. It is ramping up to be an exciting end to the month of January!
