The contract allows communication for inmates and visitors by telephone, video visitation, messaging, picture attachments and GIFs. All forms of communication, including outgoing and incoming text messages and voice mails, are monitored.

“Calls are between 21 and 25 cents,” Farmer said.

A revenue share of 65 percent goes back to the county.
Communication is monitored from any location or device that receives internet access.

The communication service provider is Network Communications International Corp (NCIC).
NCIC will ensure that these communication systems are working effectively with databases and all other elements needed for monitoring services.

The Jackson County Detention Center is overseen by Capt. Patrick McCoy with assistance from Lt. Tiffany Paul.

The request of renewal is approved and will be effective March 1.
