A referendum was on the ballot this year, altering the section of the North Carolina state constitution that defines who has the right to vote. The wording was altered to remove the word ‘naturalized’, stating that only US citizens over the age of 18 are allowed to vote. The result of the vote was 77.6 % in favor, allowing it to pass and officially amend the state constitution.
See the story bellow on what people think on the referendum and why it is needed or not.
