Catman2 is a safe-for-life cage-free cat shelter at 637 Bo Cove Rd, Cullowhee, NC 28723. The shelter was founded by Dr. Harold Sims, who passed away in November, 2024.
His caretaker, Kaleb Lynch, is now in charge of Catman2 and the American Museum of the Housecat, which was also founded by Dr. Sims.
Lynch has worked at Catman2 for 11 years and now owns the shelter after the passing of Dr. Sims. The shelter is connected to the American Museum of the House Cat in Sylva, NC, which helps fund Catman2.
The American Museum of the House Cat is open every day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Catman2 had over 100 adoption in 2024, saving the cats lives and making space to save more. Catman2 is not accepting cats at this time, so please contact your local animal shelter to surrender any cats.
The shelter also runs a low cost neuter/spay program, working with the Jackson County Animal Society, that in 2024. They performed procedures on over 300 cats.
The shelter is by appointment only, but visits to socialize the cats are welcome as well. To make an appointment, to ask about adoption, or to schedule a drop-off call 828-293-0892.
