With final exams just around the corner, a quick study break is sometimes needed to keep students a little relaxed and the brain feeling refreshed. WCU had just the event, a flower bouquet making event, on April 29.

Students started lining up an hour before the doors opened in anticipation of the event. The line went the length of the third floor of the University Center and out the back doors.
The event was put on by Last Minute Productions. About 200 people went to the event
Senior Catie Lazaro, a double major in business and marketing, started lining up about an hour before the event started.

“We waited an hour or so. But we got through pretty quick,” Lazaro said.
The event was packed and students waited a while to get in the doors.
Once the doors opened, students rushed in to get see a collection and variety of vases and flowers to choose from.

Student Gabriella Loredo-Marquez came to the event to get away from the studying and the papers she was writing.
“I came to the event because with all the finals and papers and just the semester wrapping up, there is just a lot of added pressure,” Loredo-Marquez says.
Each student could pick one vase, two flowers, and two accessories.
Senior Kimberly Granados, a criminal justice major, came to the event not only because she likes flower bouquets but also to do one last WCU event with her friends.
“I love flowers, I love arrangements. I have also done personal ones with my friends every now and then, so I really wanted to come do it because of that,” Granados says.
The event was a big hit and there were smiles and laughter all around the University Center.
Some events that are going on that students can attend to take a break are Punch and Crunch Study hall, Monday, May 5, at 6 pm in the University Center Grand Room. It is being put on by Last Minute Productions and is a study-centered event that has snacks and punch.
