The Catamount football team wrapped up its season with a 48-6 win against the Virginia Military Institute. The Catamounts finished the season with a 7-5 overall record and 6-2 in SoCon play.

At the conclusion of the season, the All-SoCon teams were announced. Head coaches voted on the awards and for the All-SoCon team. Coaches vote for a first team, second team and freshman team. As well as the
The Catamounts hold nine spots on the postseason team. Quarterback Taron Dickens, Wide Receiver James Tyre, Defensive Back Ken Moore Jr. and Return Specialist Dominic Dutton all received first-team honors.
Offensive lineman Zack Watson, Wide Receiver Malik Knight and Tight End Josiah Thomas received second-team honors.

Tight End Josiah Thomas also earned a spot on the All-Freshman list alongside Wide Receiver Markel Townsend and Place Kicker Marcus Trout.
SoCon post-season awards were also released. Dickens won Roy M. “Legs” Hawley SoCon Offensive Player of the Year Award. This award is given to the most outstanding offensive player in the SoCon each year. Dickens was also one of thirty named a finalist for the Walter Peyton award. This is given to the best offensive player in the FCS. Dickens was one of three invited to the announcement ceremony.
Dickens finished the season number one in the FCS in passing yards (3508), passing yards a game (389.78), completion percentage (74.25%), total offense yards a game (425.45) and touchdown passes (38). Dickens has announced he will be leaving WCU and entering his name into the transfer portal. The portal opens on January 2nd.
