If you are looking for something fun to do next Friday night, come and join the fun of Appalachian Women Trivia Night at Innovation Station Brewing in Dillsboro at 6:30pm, Friday, March 13.
Bring your group of friends to compete for prizes and raise funds that will go to the Appalachian Women’s Museum in Dillsboro.
The Appalachian Women’s Museum is an organization governed by an all-volunteer board that has worked to open the doors of the Monteith Farmstead in Dillsboro, North Carolina. The museum collects and preserves the stories of the women in Southern Appalachia through events, storytelling and exhibits. This is made possible through people like you that are interested in a fun way to fundraise!

AWM likes to give back to the community through its victory garden on the grounds, a community garden that donates produce to United Christian Ministries and the Community Table to assist with food insecurity in Jackson County. They also partner with community organizations such as Mountain Heritage Center, Cherokee Preservation Foundation, WCU History Department, WATR, Jackson County Public Library, and Dogwood Crafters, along with major support from the Jackson County Commission, SkyFi Internet, the Town of Dillsboro, and TWASA. Support from the community is invited and encouraged as events are planned and continued rebuilding and renovation is taking place on the grounds.
Your support is very important. You can friend them on Facebook @AppalachianWomensMuseum to keep up with what is happening, or send them an email if you would like to get involved! They would love to have you in their volunteer-based organization.
