NASA accomplished something historic in April. We are step closer to stepping again to the Moon. Artemis II mission to orbit the moon and come back in 10 days was successful and as NASA says on their website “the first crewed Artemis flight marks a key step toward long‑term return to the Moon and future missions to Mars.”
For WCU planetary geology professor and department head of Geology and Natural Resources, Dr. Amy Fagan the Artemis missions are personal. Most of the people in the NASA’s science evaluation room are her friends she have known and worked with for years. She has studied space and moon geology for years, her office is full of rocks from space and plenty of Lego space sets.
Listen our episode with Dr. Fagan and her experience with the missions, the people and what it means for the rest of us.
